Meet Our Team!

Maria Koutsoumbelas is the founder of The Sweet Point.

 

Our 20-year baking experience was borne from family recipes, multi-cultural influences and traditions.  After working for many years as a litigation support specialist, Maria combined her passion and love of baking with her entrepreneurial knowledge in establishing a bakery that specializes in creative, elegant cakes and one-of-a kind dessert presentations.

 

Born with artistic talents that matured through her painting and wood carving skills, Maria earned her stripes through hard work and training in learning the techniques of cake designing.  She expanded her repertoire by designing three-dimensional flowers from gelatin.

Nancy Anguiano joined the team with over 10 years of baking, cake decoration, and catering experience.  Nancy’s strengths includes exquisite attention to detail, and in organizing corporate catering events.

 

Maria and Nancy have competed in professional cake decorating shows.  They are members of the Frosting Creators of San Antonio, and the Int’l Cake Exploration Societé (ICES).
